Paper craft project no. 388: Thankful for family one layer card

I've got a lot to be thankful for to my family -- I'm surrounded by my parents, in-laws, and husband who help me in taking care of my daughter, Kathryn. After a long labor (46 hours), I ended up delivering my baby via C-section in late August. I had planned on a normal delivery all along and didn't anticipate the delivery route I ended up with. The unplanned C-section had/have its own set of challenges (many of those I'm still dealing with at the moment), and without my family, I wouldn't know how to deal with those challenges without going insane :o)

Here's our first family photo:

Anyway, today's one layer card is for my parents and it's also for the special stamp release we're having over at the STAMPlorations blog this week. It features the set I illustrated, Holiday Expressions: Thankful for Autumn (now available in the shop at 10% off).

To create my card, I stamped the pumpkin first then placed the Shutters stencil over the card base and sponged green, yellow, and red inks. I used Inktense pencils to color the image. I stamped the sentiment and added the grungy frame (from the upcoming stamp club set, Mixed Media Elements) around. I finished the card by sponging brown chalk ink around the edges.

Check out what Becca, LauraJane, and Vicki created using the Thankful for Autumn set -- leave a comment here, on their blogs, and on the STAMPlorations blog by Friday and you could be the winner of this set :o)

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to smile :o)
