Paper craft project no. 416: Just be you one layer card

Popping by to share a card I made for Time Out. It's the Inspired by Words challenge and for the next couple of weeks, we'd like to see projects inspired by this line from a John Lennon song: Love is the flower you've got to let grow. Now that's one line that can be taken in many, many directions.

I went with one of the words in the line -- flower -- and created my one layer card. I stamped the large zinnia in HA yellow ink and then re-stamped it in a darker color to create that offset, retro look. Added a little bit of contrast by stamping the grungy splatter stamp in HA ultra pink. I stamped the butterflies and sentiment in black. Finished the card by rounding one corner.

Check out the cards the team + guest designer Valentyna made and then link up your own inspired by words project. Sponsoring the challenge is Clearly Besotted.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to smile :o)

  1. I so love how you create a grunge look out of flowers cards, love how you have off set the flowers to give the retro look x

  2. Love how you've incorporated the pink on this card. Stunning background against those gorgeous butterflies. Striking card x

  3. OMG, Shery, I think it's really "Beatley" card, can feel that special tune and harmony of the Beatles in the color of those beautiful colors!

  4. Oh my...this is absolutely gorgeous, Shery! Perfect for the inspiration! I adore the pink on this!

  5. Bold and vibrant, Shery ... what a fabulous retro look! Hugs, Anita :)

  6. Love the retro and grundy look on your card, Shery, they give special effect on one layer card. Thanks for the inspiration!

What's on your mind? If you'd like to share, share it with a smile, please :o) Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog!
