Paper craft project no. 426: The world is but a canvas one layer card

My cards for the Art Marks special stamp release blog hop are in this post.

Popping by to share the card I made as reminder for the current challenge at Time Out. It's based on this Home Sweet Home inspiration photo:

I went monochromatic black again (even though I was tempted to add a splash of color) in my CAS artsy/grungy one layer card. I stamped my sentiment (from Art Is) and then built my background around it -- stamped the butterfly (from Blossom Like a Butterfly) off the edge and then simply did some collage stamping of the splatters, ink blots, sketchy circles, and French script (from Art Marks and Mixed Media Elements) and the card is done :o)

Check out the cards the team + guest designer Cornelia made and then link up your own project inspired by the photo. We can't wait to see them!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to smile :o)

Paper craft project no. 425: Art marks one layer cards

This week over at STAMPlorations, we're releasing another set I designed called Art Marks. We've got a mini hop for it -- hop on over the blog and leave a comment on the special stamp release post, as well as on the participating designers blogs for a chance to win this set.

To showcase this set, I created 3 one layer cards:

CARD #1: I stamped the grungy film strip several times in black ink, as well as the splatters and distressed stars in white pigment ink. On the bottom third of the card, I did second generation stamping of the different distressed words and stamped one word in red for a pop of color.

CARD #2: I used one of the splatter stamps and the smaller sketchy circle stamp to create the artsy abstract blooms in spring colors.

CARD #3: I swiped a few HA ink on the card base, stamped the grungy newsprint (from Mixed Media Grunge) and then toned down the colors by swiping white pigment ink all over. Stamped the sentiment and birds (from Trendy Birds) in black and then stamped some more on the background.

Check out what Maria, Shirley, Susanne, and Toni created using the Art Marks set -- leave a comment here, on their blogs, and on the STAMPlorations blog by Friday and you could win this set :o) And until March 2, Art Marks is 10% off.

Paper craft project no. 424: Season's greeting one layer card

Popping by with a card I made as reminder for the current challenge at One Layer Christmas Card. It's anything Christmas card goes...so long as it's one layer. Hope you can join us and link up before the challenge closes on Monday, February 29. Check out the beautiful one layer cards created by my teamies Vickie and Susan.

To make my card, I stamped the gift (from Party Mates) in the center, masked it, and stamped it a few more times. I colored the middle one with markers and stamped the sentiment (from Christmas Bell Medley) in black.

Paper craft project no. 423: Just a note one layer card

My cards for the Coffee Happy special stamp release blog hop are in this post.

We have a brand new challenge at Time Out and for the next couple of weeks, it's Home Sweet Home inspiration photo.

I decided to go monochromatic black with the newsprint and created a one layer card. I inked up a TH embossing folder then made an impression of it on my base card. Then I stamped the butterflies (from Trendy Butterflies) and the sentiment (from Big Greetings). I also randomly stamped the French script (from Mixed Media Elements) over the embossing folder impression and the card is done. I thought it looked rather like grunge French couture -- how's that for an oxymoron? ;o)

Check out the cards the team + guest designer Cornelia made and then link up your own project inspired by the photo. We can't wait to see them!

I'm linking up my card to Craft Stamper's February Take It Make It Challenge -- Take A Technique: Text Me (my second entry)

And it fits the current theme & sketch challenge at STAMPlorations. I went with the theme-- there are 3 small black butterflies -- and sort of did my take on the sketch.

Paper craft project no. 422: Coffee happy one layer cards

This week over at STAMPlorations, we're releasing a coffee-themed set I designed called Coffee Happy. We've got a mini hop for it -- hop on over the blog and leave a comment on the special stamp release post, as well as on the participating designers blogs for a chance to win this set.

To showcase this set, I created 3 one layer cards:

CARD #1 is very CAS -- I simply stamped all the elements in black. The grungy border is from Art Marks, another new set I designed that we'll be releasing next week (with another hop, yeah!).

With CARD #2, I decided to go CAS again, but with a touch of grunge/mixed media. I framed the stack of cups and masked the frame and did some layer stamping. (Other stamps are from Floral Bliss and Mixed Media Elements).

That retro coffee pot was just begging to be stamped all over and that's what I did in CARD #3. I stamped it in a light color and then stamped the sentiment in coffee brown ink. I added some splatters (from Art Marks) as well.

Check out what BeccaLauraJaneLisa, and Vicki created using the Coffee Happy set -- leave a comment here, on their blogs, and on the STAMPlorations blog by Friday and you could be the winner of this set :o)

Paper craft project no. 421: Shine one layer card

We're starting a new challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card. Our guest designer this time around is Anita. As usual, it's anything Christmas goes...so long as it's one layer. Hope you can join us and link up in the next two weeks. Check out the beautiful one layers created by our guest designer and my teamies Vickie and Susan.

To make my card, placed the ARTplorations The Merry Tree stencil on my card base and stamped the grungy circles (from the upcoming Art Marks set) in black. I also traced the tree with a black gel pen. Then I  I stamped the splatters in red and the star and sentiment in Delicata gold.

Paper craft project no. 420: Love you one layer card at Cupcake Inspirations

Popping by to share a card I made for the current Cupcake Inspirations challenge, where STAMPlorations is the sponsor :o) Here's the sweet inspiration photo:

To create my one layer card, I sponged HA ultra pink ink through the Hearts in Bubbles stencil, stamped the splatters in the same ink color, and then stamped the French script in DI sugar spun. Removed the stencil and stamped the sentiment. Finished the card by rounding one corner.

Linking up my card to these fun challenges:
My card is also a CASE of the gorgeous card by the fabulous Anita in France. She's the guest designer in this month's CASEplorations at STAMPlorations. See the hearts inside the circles, the shades of pinks (I skipped the orange), the sentiment combo (both size and color)?

Paper craft project no. 419: Shine one layer card

Popping by to share a card I made for Time Out. It's the Inspired by Words challenge and there is still a week left to play along. We'd like to see projects inspired by this line from a John Lennon song: Love is the flower you've got to let grow

Again, I went with one of the words in the line -- flower -- and created a one layer CAS card in my favorite style (grungy and artsy). I stamped my focal image (from Hope Blooms) in HA ultra pink and masked it so I can do some grungy layer/collage stamping in HA soft granite using stamps from Art Marks, a new set coming out in a couple of weeks. I added some newsprint/text (from Mixed Media Grunge) and stamped the sentiment and three grungy hearts in ultra pink to tie it all together.

Check out the cards the team + guest designer Valentyna made and then link up your own inspired by words project. Sponsoring the challenge is Clearly Besotted.

I'm linking up my card to Craft Stamper's February Take It Make It Challenge -- Take A Technique: Text Me and Addicted to CAS #81 - Bloom.

And it fits the current theme & sketch challenge at STAMPlorations. I went with just the theme -- got 3 grungy pink hearts.

Plus STAMPlorations is the sponsor over at Addicted to Stamps and More, where there's this sweet photo inspiration. (I went with pink.)

Paper craft project no. 418: Bloom one layer card

Popping by to share a quick card I made this afternoon while my little one was having her tummy time in the crib. Stamped the sketchy blooms (Hope Blooms) in Memento love letter then masked it before stamping various grungy stamps in neutral. Finished the card with the big sentiment in black.

I based the card's design on the current sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch and added my little artsy/grungy style on a one layer CAS card :o) I haven't played there in a while and it was so good to make a card just for fun.

Of course, this card also fits the current challenge over at STAMPlorations February CAS Card Challenge, where the optional color twist is red)

And I just gotta share a couple photos of my sweetie...

Her face when I showed her the card. She knows how to make mommy very happy :o)

My little one appreciates handmade cards ;o)

Paper craft project no. 417: Have a very merry Christmas one layer card

We're halfway through the current challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card. If you'd like to start building your Christmas card stash, why not join us over there? It's anything goes so long as your Christmas card is one layer. My teamies Vickie and Susan have also created beautiful one layer cards so I hope you'll come check us out :o)

To make my card, I stamped my favorite grungy splatter stamp through the ARTplorations The Merry Tree stencil in green and brown inks. Then I simply stamped the sentiment in black.
