Paper craft project no. 427: Yuletide cheer one layer card

We're starting a new challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card. Our guest designer this time around is the talented Shirley Bampton. As usual, it's anything Christmas goes...so long as it's one layer. Hope you can join us and link up in the next two weeks. Check out the beautiful one layers created by our guest designer and my teamies Vickie and Susan.

To make my card, I stamped the framed poinsettia and masked it before stamping the spruce in different shades of green. I finished the card by stamping the simple sentiment.

Paper craft project no. 424: Season's greeting one layer card

Popping by with a card I made as reminder for the current challenge at One Layer Christmas Card. It's anything Christmas card goes...so long as it's one layer. Hope you can join us and link up before the challenge closes on Monday, February 29. Check out the beautiful one layer cards created by my teamies Vickie and Susan.

To make my card, I stamped the gift (from Party Mates) in the center, masked it, and stamped it a few more times. I colored the middle one with markers and stamped the sentiment (from Christmas Bell Medley) in black.

Paper craft project no. 421: Shine one layer card

We're starting a new challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card. Our guest designer this time around is Anita. As usual, it's anything Christmas goes...so long as it's one layer. Hope you can join us and link up in the next two weeks. Check out the beautiful one layers created by our guest designer and my teamies Vickie and Susan.

To make my card, placed the ARTplorations The Merry Tree stencil on my card base and stamped the grungy circles (from the upcoming Art Marks set) in black. I also traced the tree with a black gel pen. Then I  I stamped the splatters in red and the star and sentiment in Delicata gold.

Paper craft project no. 417: Have a very merry Christmas one layer card

We're halfway through the current challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card. If you'd like to start building your Christmas card stash, why not join us over there? It's anything goes so long as your Christmas card is one layer. My teamies Vickie and Susan have also created beautiful one layer cards so I hope you'll come check us out :o)

To make my card, I stamped my favorite grungy splatter stamp through the ARTplorations The Merry Tree stencil in green and brown inks. Then I simply stamped the sentiment in black.

Paper craft project no. 415: Merry Christmas one layer card

We're starting a new challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card. Our guest designer this time around is Maura. As usual, it's anything Christmas goes...so long as it's one layer. Hope you can join us and link up in the next two weeks. Check out the beautiful one layers created by our guest designer and my teamies Vickie and Susan.

To make my card, I stamped the Christmas candles and sentiment in HA dye ink. I wasn't in the mood for coloring (okay, who am I kidding...I don't have much time to color or even make cards that take more than 5 minutes to make these days) so I added color with stamps -- green for the grunge chevron and red for the grungy dots on the poinsettia leaves.

Paper craft project no. 412: Merry merry merry one layer card

Popping by to share the card I made for the new challenge we have over at the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge. I stamped the bells (Holiday Sketches; Christmas Bells) and masked them before stamping the grungy borders and splats (Mixed Media Grunge and Mixed Media Elements) and finishing off with the sentiment (Joyful). Grungy, just like how like it, but still pretty CAS :o)

Check out what my teamie Vicki and Susan made + we have our first guest designer, the talented Ashwini. Link up by February 1 -- we'd love to see you there!

Paper craft project no. 400: Merry one layer card

It's a new challenge over at the One Layer Christmas Card challenge blog. As usual, it's anything one layer Christmas card goes, but for the next couple of weeks we have the optional twist: silhouette.

I skipped the twist and just did a simple card. I sponged green ink over an ARTplorations stencil (The Merry Tree) before stamping the newsprint grunge stamp (Mixed Media Grunge). I roughly traced the outline of the Christmas tree with a black gel pen and finished the card by stamping the simple sentiment (Joyful) in red.

Hope you can play along! Check out the beautiful one layer cards that my teamies made:

Paper craft project no: 394: Have a very merry Christmas one layer card

We're starting a new challenge at the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge. It's always anything goes one layer Christmas cards but for the next two weeks, the optional twist is "reindeer".

I skipped the twist. I went monochromatic by using different green inks (Memento). Stamped the numbers background first, then the pine boughs in varying shades of green ink, and then the script background. I stamped the sentiment in black and finished the card by rounding one corner.

Check out what the rest of the design team created and then hopefully you'll join us and link up your one layer Christmas cards :o)

Paper craft project no. 386: Believe in the magic one layer card

New challenge at the One Layer Layer Christmas Card blog. It's anything one layer Christmas card goes, with "sleigh" as the optional twist. Hope you'll join us and share your one layer Christmas cards! Christmas is going to be here soon and it's never too early to get started on those Christmas cards :o)

I used a holiday themed stamp set from STAMPlorations (available beginning September) to create my one layer card. I stamped the framed sleigh in antique linen Distress ink, traced over the image with a red calligraphy pen, and ran my waterbrush to make the ink bleed. Then I inked up the same stamp with a black PITT artist brush pen and stamped over the image again. Masked the image before stamping the snowflakes with a gray watercolor brush marker and then did a colorwash on the card base. Finished the card by stamping the sentiment in black Memento Luxe ink.

I'm not into color challenges, but I saw the current challenge at JUGS and thought the colors were perfect for a Christmas card:

PS: There's a blog hop happening over at STAMPlorations and you won't want to miss it! Oodles of inspiration from the STAMPlorations girls, as well as prizes for several lucky hoppers!

Paper craft project no. 377: Merry Christmas one layer card

Howdy! It's time for a new challenge over at the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge blog. For the next couple of weeks, the optional twist is "GIFT", but you can link up any Christmas card as long as it's one layer.

Check out the one layer beauties the rest of the team made:
SUSAN | KIM  | VICKIE |  LEE-ANNE

My card is a quick and simple one: I stamped the presents (from the fun Party Mates) in black ink and then used the backside of each stamp to "color" them. I deliberately didn't line up the back to the outline image because I wanted to create a sort of offset print look. Then I stamped the border (from the Artsy Border Maker set) in gold Delicata ink and finished the card by stamping the sentiment.

Paper craft project no. 366: Nativity one layer card

Hello! It's time for a new challenge over at the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge. It's always anything goes as long as the Chriatms card is a one layer. The optional twist is "stars". Check out the cards that the OLCCC design team made and then play along :o)

To make my card, I brayered blue acrylic paints on my Gelli plate and placed my card base over. Once the paint dried, I dabbed black soot Distress paint through the Nativity Angel stencil and then traced the outline with a white Faber-Castell white PITT artist pen.

Paper craft project no. 361: Joyeux Noel one layer card

We have a new challenge at The One Layer Christmas Card challenge blog. It's always anything one layer Christmas card goes, but if you create a one layer card with the optional twist (angel), you could win this month's prize (this month it's this ARTplorations stencil). Hope you'll come play along and share your one layer beauties! Check out what my teamies have created!

For my card, I sponged mustard seed Distress ink through the Nativity Angel stencil and then stamped the holiday block stamp in coffee archival ink before removing the stencil. I inked around the card and then stamped the sentiment.

Paper craft project no. 354: Season's greetings one layer card

We have a brand new challenge at the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge blog. For the next couple of weeks, we'd love to see your one layer holiday cards with trees as the optional twist. Of course, we're mainly an anything goes card challenge...so long as your card is one layer :o) I hope you'll check out the beautiful cards that the OLCCC girls made -- Susan, Vickie, Vicki, Kim, and Lee-Anne. We'd also love it if you can join us and share your one layer wonders -- with or without the twist :o)

For my card, I diecut a circle from a post-it note, stuck the negative to the center of my card base and then sponged with Distress ink. Keeping the circle in place, I stamped the Christmas trees and newsprint background several times. I removed the circle diecut and stamped the sentiment. I loosely drew around the edges of the circle with a gel pen to give it a bit of interest.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back very soon for my card for Day 2 of the STAMPlorations Stamp Release Spotlight Week blog hop along with some baby news! :o)

Paper craft project no. 345: Merry Christmas one layer card

Popping by today to share my one layer card for the new challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card Challenge. It's always anything Christmas goes as long as it's a one layer card.  There's an optional twist: BLUE. Create a one layer Christmas card with the twist and you'll be in the running to win the Christmas Reindeer stencil from ARTplorations. Come check out the beautiful one layer cards created by the OLCCC design team!

To create my card, I stamped the Christmas gift (from the Joyful set) on the card base and colored it with Chameleon Color Tones. I also stamped the image on a post-it note, fussy cut it, and used it as a mask before sponging mustard seed DI through the Oh My Stars! stencil. Finished the card by stamping the sentiment (from the Holiday Sketches: Christmas Candles set).

Paper craft project no. 329: Joyful cheer one layer card

It's a new challenge over at the One Layer Christmas Card blog! It's always Anything Goes Christmas card so long as the card is one layer (definition is here). There's an optional twist: GLITTER. Take a look at the cards the rest of the OLCC girls made here -- they're gorgeous! We hope you'll play along. The challenge is open until March 16 and there's a prize for one lucky player who links up a card that uses the twist!

For my card, I skipped the glitter. On my Gelli plate, I brayered green, red, and gold acrylic paints then placed the Holiday Words stencil/mask (reversed) from ARTplorations. Next I laid my card base over the stencil, covered it with scrap paper and then brayered over to transfer the print. Not wanting to waste the paint, I pulled another print for a second card (which I set aside and intend to finish later). I drew a black border and the card is done! :o)

I'd like to link up my card to the following fun challenges:

Paper craft project no. 322: Happy holidays one layer card

Hello, everyone! I'm here with my first card for 2015. Took me a while, but I'm happy to be able to do a little crafting. This one layer card is for a brand new challenge blog -- One Layer Christmas Card Challenge. It's always anything one layer Christmas goes, but there's an optional twist. For our first challenge, the twist is red. And there is even a prize up for grabs. Check out the blog -- the One Layer Christmas Card girls made beautiful cards for your inspiration! We hope you'll join us!

To make my card, I used my Japanese watercolor brush pen on a stencil -- colored in the "h" and "ppy" before tracing  the letters with a black marker. Then I stamped the Christmas tree in place of the "a" and the sentiment. I placed a strip of drywall tape at an angle at the top and bottom of my card, sponged Distress ink over it, and removed the tape to reveal the grid design. Done with my first Christmas card for the year :o)

I'm linking up my card to these fun challenges:
  1. Dream Valley Challenge #97 - Christmas
  2. Virginia's View Challenge #11 - Clean Slate
  3. Christmas Cards All Year Round January Challenge - Anything Goes
