So it's time for a new challenge at Time Out, and for the next two weeks, we're doing a theme challenge: Grunge with the optional twist of embossing. STAMPlorations is sponsoring this challenge and giving away two $10 gift certificates to spend on the shop: one winner (voted by the design team) and one winner randomly picked from those entries with the optional twist (embossing). Joining the fab TO girls in this challenge is guest designer Ksenija of Sweet kobylkin. Check out what she and my TO teamies made for this challenge, and we look forward to seeing your grungy creations!
I love creating grunge and artsy cards so I was happy when Sandie and Nonni picked this theme :o). My card's background is a Gelli plate print: pulled the first print by loosely brayering yellow and orange acrylic paints, and then pulling a negative print (3rd pull) from the honeycomb stencil with black acrylic paint. Then I simply did second-generation stamping of various grunge elements (stamps from Mixed Media Grunge, Blossom Overture, The Birds and the Blooms, and Texturized: Big Numbers Background) in jet black archival ink. Finished it off by stamping the distressed label and sentiments (from Blossom Overture). I made this card for my MIL, whose birthday is May 14. She loves birds and I thought she'd like the hints of oriole and cardinal in the card.
Linking my card to these fun challenges:

- Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to smile :o)
